About UX Directory

UX Research Directory Goal

UX Directory was created to help designers, researchers, and product teams find the right research methods for their specific needs. I (Johanna) created this directory because I wish I had a tool like this when I was starting out in UX research and again when I was coaching a team as a UX manager.

What is it?

The directory provides a collection of UX and product research methods, each with high level information about:

  • When to use each method
  • Budget and resource requirements
  • Time needed for implementation
  • Team size recommendations
  • Pros and cons of each approach
  • Real-world examples and use cases

All of the information is sourced from my experience, books, and articles. These are generalizations, and you should use your best judgement for budgeting and estimating timelines. For example, you may be working on an internal enterprise product, and therefore, don't need to budget for compensating participants, travel, or other costs. Feedback is always welcome!
